We are the grandchildren of the children of fire, of the tireless walkers of the earth, of the daring souls of the sea, of the reckless ones of the sky. Heirs to them all, in the chain that binds us to a distant time, when the cold of the caves was the fear of the night, the savannah tree an anchor to life, and dawn the awakening of the soul within the frail body that yearns.

We bear witness to every departed soul: to the audacity that breathes life into the eyes and light into the chest, that spreads its wings across the infinite sky and opens the doors to the winds of the unexpected, that ignites the dreams of the ego and etches the signs of the logos.

The second ‘egologo’ volume (following egologo. Statua, Segni, Stagioni, Eurilink, 2024) is a collection of the stories and journeys of homo, amidst the vicissitudes that mark the experience of individuals and peoples as the millennia
unfold. On the one hand, the ‘giants’ of the world, from whose shoulders one glimpses the future that unites us all; on the other, the ‘vanquished’, who, walking upon the earth without a footprint or apparent trace, barely touch it.
